Terms of use

These terms cover the BackHere application and the site backhere.z-cloud.com.vn, provided by Z-SOFT CO., LTD (Da Nang, Vietnam). Installing or using the app means you accept them.

1. The app remembers for you; it does not orient you

BackHere stores the coordinates of where you are standing and points you back at them. The arrow gives a bearing and a straight-line distance, not a walkable route: between you and the saved point there may be a wall, a different basement level or a river. The actual path, the signs on it and the rules of the place are always the authority.

Do not use the app while driving. It is designed to be pressed once you have stopped, and read while you are on foot.

2. Positioning accuracy

GPS error depends on where you are standing: usually a few metres outdoors, and up to tens of metres in an underground car park or between tall buildings. A phone's compass also drifts near steel structure or magnets. The app shows the accuracy it measures, but makes no guarantee of putting you on the exact spot — which is precisely why it lets you attach a photo and a note.

3. Your data lives on your phone

Places, notes and photos are stored on the device and are not synchronised to any server of ours (see the Privacy page). The consequence, stated plainly: losing the phone, uninstalling the app or clearing its data loses the whole list, and we hold no copy to restore. Backing up is yours to do, through your operating system's own backup.

4. Basic and Pro

Basic is free with no time limit, keeps up to 5 active places and attaches no photos. Pro unlocks an unlimited number of places and lets you attach photos to any of them.

Pro is a single payment, kept forever — no monthly plan, no annual plan, no trial that starts charging, and nothing that renews itself. The price is shown by the App Store and Google Play for your own country. The transaction is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never take payment directly.

On a new phone, or after reinstalling, press Restore on the Pro screen to get back what you bought, using the same Apple or Google account. Refunds follow that store's own policy — we do not receive the money and therefore cannot return it.

5. What you may and may not do

You may install the app on your own devices and use it personally or in your work. You may not decompile, modify, repackage or redistribute it under another name. Download it only from the App Store or Google Play — we take no responsibility for a copy obtained elsewhere.

6. Maps and third-party services

On Android, map data belongs to OpenStreetMap contributors and is published under the open ODbL licence, with the map pictures served by OpenFreeMap. On iPhone, the map is Apple's. Looking up and searching for an address uses your phone's own service and the Photon search service. Those services have their own terms and may change or be interrupted for reasons outside our control — when that happens the app still saves places and still points at them, only without a map behind them.

7. Sending a location

When you send a location, the app builds a map link and hands it to the messaging app you choose. Who receives it is your decision; we do not see the content, do not store it, and have no control over where it travels next.

8. Content you create

The names, notes and photos you add are yours. We claim no rights over them — for the simple reason that they never reach us.

9. No warranty

The app is provided "as is". We do not promise that it runs on every device, that it runs without fault, or that third-party map services will always be available.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for indirect losses arising from use of the app — for example additional parking charges, a missed departure, or time lost failing to find a saved place. The app is a memory aid, not a guarantee.

11. Operating system requirements

This version requires iOS 15.1 or newer or Android 7.0 or newer. Later versions may raise that floor as the platform moves; a device below it keeps the version it has but stops receiving updates.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. A new version is posted on this page with its date. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the new version.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Vietnam. Disputes that cannot be settled by discussion will be heard by the competent court in Da Nang.
